A Prayer for our Children
God of heaven and earth, maker of man and woman, and blessed founder of marriage. You told us to increase and multiply and fill the earth. Help us to always fulfill our duties as parents and bring our children up well.
Have mercy on us and our homes and in your great goodness pour out your grace on our homes.
O Lord who watches over all living things, nourish, bring up, and protect our children. Help us to plant within their souls what is good and useful and what is pleasing to you.
Fill our children with wisdom and understanding. Protect them from the snares of the enemy.
Command your angels to protect them. May your Holy Spirit be their Guide and Counselor in all good works.
Help us to never dampen the hope of these children, betray their trust, or discourage their dreams. Let your grace and love fall on these children and us as parents. Give us inner strength, faith, peace and patience for the journey. |
